Specialized Workshops and Presentations
At Stepping Stone Counseling Group, we provide specialized workshops and presentations for professionals, caregivers, and community organizations who support mental health, healing, and well-being. Grounded in current research and relational, experiential practice, our offerings span a wide range of topics relevant to those working in therapeutic, educational, and caregiving roles.
Our workshops are available in various settings to meet the needs of your team or organization:
On-site at your agency or program
In the serene, nature-based setting of Sage Cottage in Armstrong
In our dedicated group space at Stepping Stones Counseling Group in Kelowna
Our Areas of Focus:
Neuroaffirming Therapies
These workshops offer inclusive, respectful approaches for working with neurodivergent individuals. Emphasis is placed on moving beyond deficit-based models toward strength-based, affirming practices rooted in co-regulation and choice.
Sensory and Sandtray Therapy
Grounded in experiential and expressive therapies, these sessions explore the therapeutic power of sensory integration and symbolic play using sandtray. Ideal for those working with children, youth, or adults who benefit from non-verbal, creative approaches to healing.
Play Therapy Foundations and Techniques
Designed for therapists and allied professionals, our play therapy workshops focus on creating safe, regulated spaces where children can process and express through play. Trainings are experiential and include child-led, directive, and integrative models.
Family Therapy and Systems Work
Families are complex systems, and our workshops provide tools to support connection, communication, and co-regulation. Topics include intergenerational trauma, structural family therapy, attachment-based family work, and creative approaches for engaging families in therapy.
Neurobiology and Brain Development
Explore the foundations of how the brain develops, how early experiences shape the nervous system, and how we can support healing through neuro-informed approaches. Ideal for therapists, educators, and caregivers seeking to deepen their understanding of brain-behavior connections.
Trauma-Informed Practice
Understand the impact of trauma across the lifespan, including complex and developmental trauma. Workshops emphasize the nervous system, somatic awareness, and relational safety, offering practical tools to support trauma recovery in both individual and family contexts.
Attachment and Relational Health
Attachment shapes how we connect, cope, and form meaning. These workshops explore attachment theory and its application in therapeutic settings, with a focus on attunement, rupture and repair, and supporting secure connection across ages and systems.
Grief and Loss
Grief is not a pathology—it’s a process. Our grief and loss workshops support helping professionals to hold space for grief in its many forms, including ambiguous loss, disenfranchised grief, and collective trauma. We integrate creative and nature-based approaches alongside clinical models.
