Fees & FAQs

Making Mental Health Care More Accessible

Mental health care should be approachable, transparent, and easy to understand. That’s why we offer a transparent fee structure and answer common questions to help you feel confident when reaching out. Our Kelowna counsellors work with individuals, couples, children, teens, and families, both in person and online.

We offer both in-person and online sessions to make it easy for you to get the support you need in the way that works best for you.

Answers to Common Questions

Choosing a Therapist

  • Finding a counsellor can feel like a big decision, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. We’ll let you know who’s accepting new clients and suggest someone based on your needs and preferences.

You can also browse our team bios to see who feels like the right fit. And if something doesn’t feel quite right, you’re always welcome to switch therapists.

Booking & Sessions

  • Most counselling sessions are 50 minutes. Sessions with young children may be a bit shorter, while couples and family sessions can run longer, depending on your needs. Please note that longer sessions may involve a higher fee.

  • No, you don't need a referral to access our services. Some benefit plans may require a referral for reimbursement, so it's always a good idea to check with your provider.

  • Yes, we offer secure online counselling for anyone who prefers to meet virtually. It’s a great option if you're outside of Kelowna or if online therapy simply works better for your life.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask for at least 48 hours’ notice (two business days). Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full session fee. If you arrive late, the full fee still applies, even if the session is shorter.

Child & Youth Counselling:

  • Each child is different. Some children need short-term support for things like emotional regulation or school stress, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy for more complex issues such as trauma or grief.

  • If parents are separated or divorced and share legal guardianship, both must consent to therapy for children under age 15 unless a legal agreement or court order states otherwise. It's the responsibility of the attending parent to provide the therapist with the other parent’s contact information.

  • If you are 16 or older, you do not need parental consent to begin counselling. Your privacy matters and your counsellor will discuss the process with you before your first session.
