Engaging the Nervous System in Trauma Healing

About the Training

Unlock the power of the nervous system in your work with children and adolescents. This experiential workshop introduces therapists and mental health professionals to Polyvagal Theory and its practical application in therapy with young clients. Learn how to recognize autonomic states, understand how trauma impacts the nervous system, and integrate play, movement, and co-regulation strategies to support emotional regulation and social engagement. Through a mix of theory, hands-on exercises, and case discussions, you will gain tools to help children and youth feel safe, seen, and empowered in therapy.

Facilitator

Deanne Leung, M.Ed, RCC-ACS Deanne is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Approved Clinical Supervisor with over 25 years of experience in trauma, grief, attachment, expressive therapies, family systems, and neurobiology-informed practice.
