Join us for a day of learning, reflection, and practical tools to support children and youth as they navigate grief and loss

About the Training:

Grief and loss show up in the lives of children and youth in many ways—death, divorce, foster placement, illness, friendship changes, and other transitions. This experiential one-day workshop provides therapists with practical tools, developmental insights, and creative approaches to support young clients in navigating these profound experiences.

You Will Learn:

  • The developmental understanding of grief in children & adolescents

  • Neurobiology of grief and how it impacts regulation & attachment

  • How to create safe containers for conversations about death and loss

  • Expressive and play-based interventions for grief work

  • Approaches for complicated or disenfranchised grief

  • Supporting caregivers and family systems through loss

Who Should Attend

Therapists, counsellors, and helping professionals working with children, youth, and families. Facilitator: Deanne Leung, M.Ed, RCC-ACS With 25 years of experience supporting children, youth, and families through trauma, grief, and transition, Deanne brings a grounded, experiential approach that blends neurobiology, attachment, and expressive therapies.
